Product overview

Fiberlogy PP filament is a lightweight polypropylene material for parts that need to flex, resist wear and work where chemical resistance matters. It combines durability with a high capacity for stretch, making it well suited to functional prototypes, snap-fit features, workshop components and everyday products. Choose this standard Fiberlogy PP grade when low part mass and a flexible response are central to the design.

Why choose Fiberlogy PP

Low material density helps keep finished parts light. Strong elongation allows clips, closures and other flexing features to move through their intended range, while impact strength supports parts exposed to knocks. Chemical and abrasion resistance extend its usefulness in demanding handling environments. Good adhesion between printed layers helps the finished part work as a coherent structure. Together, these properties give product teams and makers a practical material for designs that combine movement, low weight and service durability.

Applications that suit PP

  • Engineering and workshop parts: clips, handles, engineering components and functional prototypes.
  • Containers and closures: lidded or snap-fit boxes and lightweight handling components.
  • Automotive development: prototype functional components that benefit from flexibility and low weight.
  • Medical and veterinary design: orthotic and prosthetic prototypes where flexibility and low weight are useful.
  • Everyday use: durable household parts that benefit from controlled flex rather than a rigid response.

Plan the build surface for polypropylene

Build-surface choice is important with PP. Fiberlogy lists polypropylene packing tape on a smooth plate or a dedicated PP-coated plate. These PP-specific preparation steps support a secure first layer.

Standard grade in spool format

This series is Fiberlogy’s standard PP grade for FFF and FDM printing, supplied wound on a spool. The current catalogue includes a larger spool option for repeat use; it is not a refill product. Polypropylene prints and clean production scrap are recyclable where the local collection stream accepts this polymer, so check the available route before sorting print waste.
