Product overview
Fiberlogy FiberFlex 40D filament is a practical choice for flexible functional parts that need resilience without feeling excessively soft or difficult to control. Its firmer flexible behaviour provides a controlled feel. The filament feeds smoothly, while strong layer bonding supports durable results. It suits professional workshops, maintenance teams and product developers, but remains approachable for makers producing dependable everyday components.
Why firmer flexibility matters
This grade combines elastic movement with a more controlled feel. Parts can bend and compress while the material provides impact and abrasion resistance. That balance is valuable for functional prototypes and end-use components that need controlled flex alongside durability.
It also keeps its impact resistance in cold conditions. Its chemical-resistance profile covers many common substances but is not universal. For critical contact, check the specific substance and exposure against the manufacturer’s resistance data.
Recommended applications
FiberFlex 40D works well for gaskets, frequently bent machine elements, protective cases, flexible mounts and shock-absorbing parts. It also suits phone cases, wearable straps, flexible hinges, toy tyres, rubber figures and bands or bracelets. Product designers can use it for prototypes that need realistic movement, while workshops can produce functional replacements when a rigid plastic cannot provide the needed flex.
Practical printing and care
Smooth feeding and dependable layer bonding make this material more manageable than many users expect from a rubber-like filament. Use the recommended build-surface preparation and keep the filament dry. A suitable tape or adhesive interface can help control bed adhesion and make finished parts easier to remove.
A small amount of powder residue may appear during printing. This is a normal material characteristic. If visible residue accumulates, inspect and clean the filament path and nearby printer components to maintain consistent feeding.
