TPU Filament

Shop TPU filament for seals, bumpers, sleeves, protective parts and other components that must flex under load. Compare standard TPU in Shore 90A and 98A series, the high-flow PolyFlex TPU95-HF option and carbon-reinforced TPU. Hardness, part geometry and print setup all affect how flexible the printed part feels.

Which TPU grade should you choose?

Shore 90A TPU The softer mainstream choice for gaskets, bumpers, vibration dampers, sleeves and other parts that must flex repeatedly. Browse TPU
Shore 98A TPU A firmer elastomer for flexible functional parts that should deform less than 90A. Browse TPU
High-flow TPU Choose a declared high-flow grade when production speed matters; follow its extruder and speed guidance. Browse TPU
TPU-CF Choose carbon-reinforced TPU when you still need flexibility but want higher stiffness and deformation resistance than an unfilled grade. Browse TPU-CF

Flexible filament prints best with a controlled filament path and a product-specific profile. A direct-drive extruder is recommended for high-speed TPU, while dry storage and drying matter when the material has absorbed moisture. Carbon-filled TPU is a specialist grade: check the product page for nozzle and handling requirements before use.

TPU buying questions

What does 90A or 98A mean on TPU?

It is the Shore A hardness. A higher number indicates a harder material, but walls, infill, layer height and part geometry also change how flexible the printed component feels.

Which is softer: TPU 90A or TPU 98A?

TPU 90A is softer. Choose 98A when you want a firmer part with less deformation, then tune the printed response through geometry, walls and infill.

Does TPU need a direct-drive extruder?

Not always, but direct drive gives a shorter and more controlled filament path. Polymaker recommends it for running TPU95-HF at high-speed settings; indirect drive can work with the product-specific slower setup.

Should TPU be dried?

Keep TPU dry. Some grades ship with a drybox recommendation while others only need drying after moisture uptake, so follow the exact product guidance.

Does standard TPU need a hardened nozzle?

Spectrum does not require a hardened nozzle for standard S-Flex 90A. Carbon-reinforced TPU is a separate specialist grade, so follow its own nozzle and handling instructions.

What is high-flow TPU?

It is a TPU formulation designed to sustain more material flow. PolyFlex TPU95-HF is specified for faster printing, but the usable speed still depends on the extruder, hotend, nozzle and part.
