Product overview
Fiberlogy Nylon PA12+CF15 filament is built for rigid, dimensionally stable engineering parts where unfilled PA12 is too flexible. Carbon-fibre reinforcement raises stiffness and tensile performance while reducing shrinkage and improving thermal resistance. This helps workshops and production teams create accurate functional components with a low part mass. It is a strong fit for automotive, mechanical and drone projects, advanced prototypes and final-use parts.
Carbon reinforcement for rigid functional parts
The carbon-filled grade is much stiffer and stronger than Fiberlogy’s unfilled PA12. That difference matters in structural components, mounts, tooling and other parts that must hold their shape under load. Reduced shrinkage makes accurate printing easier than with unfilled PA12 and supports better dimensional control on complex geometries. The material also retains high chemical resistance for demanding workshop, automotive and engineering environments.
Choose the right reinforced PA12
Choose PA12+CF15 when stiffness, low deformation and a favourable strength-to-weight balance are the main priorities. In suitable applications, it can replace heavier traditional metal elements while preserving the required structural performance. Fiberlogy’s glass-fibre version offers more flexibility and is better suited to variable loads and impacts. Unfilled PA12 is the more flexible option for parts that must bend or absorb repeated movement.
From prototypes to final engineering parts
The carbon-fibre grade is particularly useful for drone structures, lightweight automotive components, durable mechanical prototypes, production tools and final functional parts. Its matte technical finish gives visible components a restrained professional appearance. This combination of mechanical performance, dimensional stability and finish makes the material useful for both development work and low-volume production.
Prepare the printer for abrasive nylon
Carbon fibres make this filament highly abrasive. Use a hardened steel or ruby nozzle; a standard brass nozzle is not suitable for sustained printing with this material. Print from dry filament and protect an opened spool from moisture to maintain reliable extrusion and surface quality. A suitable build-surface adhesive supports consistent first layers. Wear gloves when handling the filament and use eye protection and a dust mask during processing. With the right hardware and material care, PA12+CF15 provides a practical route from advanced prototype to final functional component.
