Product overview
Fiberlogy BVOH filament is a water-soluble support material for multi-material 3D printing. It replaces supports that must be cut or broken away, making it especially useful where tools cannot reach or where removal could damage fine features. After printing, water dissolves the support and exposes the model beneath. Choose it for demanding geometry, cleaner supported surfaces and less manual finishing on prototypes, detailed models and moving assemblies.
Why choose water-soluble support?
Breakaway supports work well when they are easy to reach. Fiberlogy BVOH adds value when support is trapped inside a cavity, surrounds delicate detail or holds parts of an assembly that should move after printing. Water-soluble removal avoids levering against the model and helps protect small features and supported surfaces.
The material adheres well to PLA, ABS, PETG and ASA. This makes one support filament useful across common model materials in dual-material workflows, from custom design work to repeated workshop and print-farm jobs. BVOH absorbs moisture, which can reduce print quality; this sensitivity is an important handling limitation for repeat use.
Applications for complex geometry
Use Fiberlogy BVOH for functional prototypes with internal cavities, complex decorative structures, detailed ornaments and jewellery forms, and mechanisms printed as a complete assembly. It is particularly useful when repeated manual support removal would add labour or risk marking the model. Hobby users gain the same advantage on one-off parts with inaccessible supports.
How the support workflow works
A multi-material printing system deposits BVOH only where temporary support is needed. When the print is complete, immerse the part in water until the support dissolves. This is the practical difference from conventional breakaway support: removal does not require reaching every support with tools. It enables geometries that would be difficult to clean without damaging detail or blocking moving parts.
